Dozens of academics, journalists, and human rights activists issued a statement of solidarity with Dr. Ali Baalawi, Professor of Sociology, Faculty of Arts, University of Sanaa.

This came against the backdrop of stopping him from teaching and preventing him from entering the college for the fourth consecutive day by university security.

The statement denounced this inappropriate method, calling for the teaching union at the University of Sanaa to quickly solidify with Baalawi, a member of the university’s teaching staff.

He also called on the administration of the University of Sana'a to stop such abusive practices aimed at harming the right of an academic professor with an outstanding contribution to the development of university education in Yemen.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time that a university professor has been subjected to such abuse. Many of them, even those who stood with the coup militia itself, had previously been exposed.

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the old University of Sana'a is experiencing several problems and successive crises, due to the sectarian appointments of the militia at the expense of the university's cadres.

Reports also indicate large movements during the past few weeks, to effect the greatest degree of change within public and private universities.

Knowing that most of the changes that take place come in the clear framework of religion and doctrine, as well as changing the names of halls and streets with ancestral names.
