The Southern Transitional Council renewed its commitment to implement all the provisions of the Riyadh Agreement, which was sponsored by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, between the Council and the Sharia government.

In a press statement to the official spokesperson, Nizar Haitham, the Council stressed that any manipulation in the interpretation of the terms of the agreement will only lead to more tensions, which is in the interest of the Houthi militia and the Iranian expansion project, and those like them.

The statement indicated that it was agreed to implement the mutual withdrawals plan from the governorates of Abyan and Shabwa to agreed locations, foremost of which is the return of the forces coming from Marib and Al-Jawf during the events of August 2019 to their locations in those governorates, under the auspices and supervision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

He added that the Arab coalition leadership issued directives to return the forces of Said Moili, who are currently in Abyan, to Marib, before starting any implementation of the procedures for mutual withdrawal and preventing any attempt to bomb the situation or take any military action that prevents the implementation of the Riyadh agreement.

Joint committees have also been formed to supervise the implementation of this matrix in a way that prevents any manipulation or keeping any forces not allowed to remain within the scope of these governorates.

He stated that it was agreed that the governor and director of Aden's security would be appointed in parallel with the withdrawal process, and in agreement between the Southern Transitional Council and President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, and that this be done no later than January 18 and not later.  He noted that it was agreed to collect heavy and medium weapons in special camps agreed upon under the supervision of Saudi Arabia, in preparation for the transfer of military forces and medium and heavy weapons to the fronts.

He stressed that support forces, security belts and other security forces will take over the security and stability of the liberated governorates as stipulated in the provisions of the Riyadh Agreement.

The statement said, on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, the Southern Transitional Council initiated the handing over of the prisoners held as a result of the August events to the coalition leadership in Aden, with the other party handing over the southern prisoners to the coalition leadership in preparation for their release.

The spokesman of the transitional council, expressed his hope that the compass will be corrected in the creative implementation of this agreement and will curb the wings that are tweeting outside the squadron of the Arab alliance and seeking to direct the battle towards the liberated southern provinces and identify with projects hostile to the Arab nation and Arab national security.
