"Masam": Destruction of 70,000 mines and a Houthi bomb on the West Coast

The Saudi Project for Mine Clearance in Yemen, “Masam”, carried out a destruction and detonation of 1751 mines, an explosive device, and an unexploded ordnance in the Al-Waziah district, in the western coast (west of Taiz).


Osama Al Gosaibi, General Manager of the project said, according to what the website of the project reported, “The destruction process carried out by the teams 17 and 30 Masam is the twelfth operation in the West Coast since the project started its work there, bringing the total of what was destroyed in the districts of the West Coast to 69.506 mines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.

"Masam" works for the second year in a row in 7 governorates: Marib, Shabwa, Al-Jawf, Aden, Taiz, Lahj, Al-Hodeidah and Saada.

From its launch in late June 2018 until January 16, the project has managed to remove 124,286 mines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance.
