Al Houthi imposes a tax on every surgery in private hospitals (document)

The Houthi militia imposed a new income tax on every operation and the dues of doctors working in private hospitals in Sanaa and the governorates under its control.

And last week, the leadership of the Tax Authority, appointed by the militia, directed the formation of a committee to field out to private hospitals, and obligated its departments to implement a decision to deduct an income tax for each surgery and on the dues of each doctor who performed the operation inside private hospitals at a rate ranging between 4- 15% for each operation It is due to each doctor.

According to an official document, which was directed by the Houthi militia, to the departments of private hospitals on December 9th, with a 4% tax deduction for every operation performed by the hospital when calling or hosting doctors from outside the hospital cadres if the doctor has a tax number, or a 15% deduction, if he did not have a tax number in implementation of the directives of the authority’s presidency - appointed by the Houthis - and the decision of the Minister of Finance in the coup government No. 23 of 2017.

The Houthi document stressed that these percentages should be deducted from the total amount owed to each doctor for each operation carried out inside the hospital and obliged private hospital departments to supply what was deducted for the militia tax authority.
