The Houthi militia, , has closed a number of women's beauty centers, fitness and slimming clubs, as well as women's cafés, in Sanaa under its control.
The militia had previously closed public cafés in Sanaa because of the mixing.
"They closed cafés and clubs under the pretext of mixing, but our centers are all for women only, and we have a lot of controls that are imposed on female affiliates in terms of the way they wear clothes and dealings during sports training or otherwise," one of the owners of women's cafés told Newsmen.
"Our centers and cafés are permanently open to Houthi women (armed women's groups called Zinbayat) to search and investigate on a daily and permanent basis inside the centers and cafés."
"I was surprised to close my women's centre, even though we pay a lot of legal and illegal money that we are blackmailed with every day without stopping," she said.
According to one of the enrollees in health fitness programs, that when she went to the joint center and found it closed, she was surprised by the presence of elements outside the center in a car without numbers, and the car was carrying the slogans of the Houthi militia, and they called it ugly and offensive words that include accusations of the participants and the center Being a dissolved woman.
Al-Houthi militia is seeking to close the mixed cafés, centers and cafés for women in Sana'a to make room for new investors from militia leaders.
