The National Meteorological Center announced, on Saturday, that the hurricane (Pavan) southwest of Socotra has turned into a depression.

The center clarified, in a bulletin issued today, Saturday afternoon, that weather maps, satellite images and regional bulletins received at (90:00) local time showed that hurricane (Pavan) turned into an air depression, indicating that the center of the depression is currently southwest Socotra is about 700 km long and moves towards the Somali coasts and the Horn of Africa countries at a speed of 26 km / hour, accompanied by strong winds and very heavy rain.

The National Meteorological Center warned citizens against the continuation of bad weather conditions in the depression and its surrounding areas, especially around the Socotra archipelago, east and central Gulf of Aden, expecting moderate to heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms, disruption of the state of the sea, and wave height between 4-6 meters around Socotra Archipelago and parts from the southeast and central Gulf of Aden, as well as separate rains in most of the eastern and southern governorates and the central and western regions of Yemen during the next 12 hours.

The meteorological center expected the end of bad weather that prevailed on the archipelago of Socotra due to the storm in the next 18 hours.
