Ethiopia is preparing to establish a military base bordering the Strait of Bab al-Mandab

Ethiopian media sources quoted sources in the Ethiopian naval forces as saying that they are preparing to start the construction and implementation of a military base in the coasts of Djibouti over the Strait of Bab al-Mandab.
According to the sources, the Ethiopian navy will be stationed on the coasts of Djibouti over the Strait of Aden, while the headquarters of the base and the headquarters of the navy in the capital of Amhara province, Bahr Dar, northwestern Ethiopia, led by Brigadier General Kendo Gizo.
An Ethiopian military delegation visited the Djiboutian coast and the coastal areas north of Djilj Tadjoura in Djibouti, and visited the coastal town of Ubikh, which the base is supposed to be near.
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abi Ahmed visited Djibouti and met with Djibouti President Ismail Omar Gelle in October and discussed the presence of the military base in the country.
