Cars Numbering.. New Houthi royalties, practices Separation publicly

The Houthi militias launched a campaign of new levies, royalties, to loot remaining funds and savings of citizens, in addition to confiscating the employees' salaries, looting international food aid, and robbing government's institutions, imposing illegal royalties, the Houthi militias re-impose new Custom Clearance fees on cars, vehicles, trucks that have been already paid fees by their owners at the ports of entry in al-Mahra and Aden, practicing the concept of separation and in clear violations of the Yemen Republic's constitution.

The Interior Ministry, led by Houthi leader Abdulkarim al-Houthi in Sana'a, announced the launch of what it is called the second phase of the numbering campaign.

He called on owners of cars, motorcycles and other vehicles or trucks to speed up to number their properties 'cars, motorcycles and other vehicles or trucks" and take advantage of what it is considered by the militias "the opportunity to reduce fees during the second phase of the numbering campaign.

A trap to re- pay Custom Clearance

A number of cars' owners confirm that the numbering campaign and the plot to reduce fees are not merely an artificial trap to cheat vehicles' owners, cars will be detained at the Custom Authority's yard, the Houthis will impose royalties at excessive amounts of money.

The Houthi militias impose an amount of Y.R 5,000 for every car brought to the Customs Department's for persons who are wearing the uniforms of the traffic police.

The additional customs duties imposed on these cars are estimated at hundreds of thousands, vehicles' owners are looted and blackmailed as soon as their cars enter the Customs offices.

Pro-Houthis group spread in the Customs yard receiving cars at the gate in order to finalize cars' owners dealings in return of illegal money or bribes.

A dangerous precedent

In a letter to the coup authorities in Sana'a, the ambassador at the Foreign Ministry in Yemen, Hisham Yahya Zaid al-Radi said that the re-imposing fees on cars that were previously paid at the Customs ports in the Southern provinces of Yemen. "This procedure represents a dangerous precedent in flagrant violation of the Constitution of the Unity of Republic of Yemen; moreover, it  enshrines the concept of Separation, reinforces the idea of Division and encourages advocates of ''Disengagement" within a single State.
