Security Belt commander in al-Mahfad, Abyan survives assassination attempt

A security official in Abyan province, southern Yemen, survived on Saturday an assassination attempt by an explosive device targeting him while he was on board a car.
A local source told NewsYemen that the explosive device exploded when a military vehicle carrying the commander of the Security Belt Forces in al-Mahfad sector passed.
According to the source, the commander of the Security Belt Forces in al-Mahfad survived the assassination attempt, no casualties among his guards were reported.
From time to time, al-Mahfad district experienced explosions amid a military campaign launched by security forces to hunt al-Qaeda members in the province.
