35th Brigade repulses Houthi attack in al-Aqroud front in Taiz

The forces of the 35th Brigade repulsed on Friday the seventh attack of the Houthi militias within 72 hours, in al-Aqroud Front in the central province of Taiz.

A military source said to Newsyemen that armed militias pushed reinforcements and large crowds into the front, in an attempt to pressure the national army so as to topple the front.

He confirmed the killing and wounding dozens of the Houthi gunmen during the attack, while one solider was martyred and another was injured of the national army forces.

A local source said to Newsyemen that the 35th Brigade was stabbed in the back after an operation of military reinforcements were halted by the gunmen affiliated with the Islah to supply the brigade.  

He added that the move came aimed at facilitating the Houthi militias to control the front, and laying the blame for falling the front on the 35th brigade.

A field commander at the front accused the Brotherhood Organization of colluding with the armed militias to endanger al-Aqroud front, the only corridor to Taiz city from al-Hawban area.

The Houthi militias arranged an attack at the front for three days, and began Friday noon, at a time the Party's leaders shirk to support the front with weapons and equipment, the commander added.

He warned that the scenario of handing over the mountain "Nasa" in Damt front in al-Dhale' may be repeated in Taiz, holding the Islah Party's leadership accountable for consequences' results
