Statistics reveal high numbers of kidney patients in Hadramout

Recent statistics show that a number of people with kidney failure in Valley and Desert districts in Hadramout province increased in 2018 to 371 people, 242 of them males and 129 females, compared to 358 patients in 2017.

The statistics were issued on Saturday by the General Department  of Kidney Centers in Hadramout Valley  based on the records of patients who benefit from free treatment services in kidney centers in Sayoun and al-Qatan.

The statistics revealed that Sayoun city has the largest number of patients with renal failure at the level of the province districts, with 94 cases,  Tarim with 82 cases,  al-Qatan 50 cases,  and Shebam with 42 cases.

The Undersecretary of Hadramout Essam Al-Kuthairi inaugurated the sixth awareness campaign on the occasion of the International Kidney Day under the theme "Kidney Health for Every Person".

The campaign, which lasts for one year, aims to raise the awareness of the community and ensure that the information reaches the community about the diseases that cause renal failure and ways to prevent them through various health awareness programs, thus reducing the spread of the disease.
