The Houthi militias began its looting of $ 5.2 billion at the central bank's reserves in Sana'a, without paying any attention to the consequences.

The Houthis continued to tamper with the country's economy, opened up hundreds of money-changers, and manipulating the currency, causing it to lose more than of its value (350 percent) before their coup.

The Houthis set up a black market for derivatives to enrich their leaders, disrupt the work of the State oil company, along with looting of revenue institutions and funds.

The German magazine Der Spiegel reported that the armed militias earn more than $ 30 billion per a month from al-Hodeida port only.

The Houthis stole more than 60 percent of the UN aid, which was estimated at more than $ 2 billion and $ 300 million in 2018 alone, and cut hundreds of millions to revive their sectarian and religious activities and spread their doctrine and Shiite ideology.
