Taiz Police commander survives assassination attempt

The Brigadier General Jamal al-Shamiri, the commander of the military police in Taiz province, central Yemen, survived an assassination attempt on Monday.
A security source said that al-Shamiri survived the attempt when the gunmen of the 5th presidential bodyguards shot fires.
The accident took place nearby the central prison building in al-Dhabab road, the southwest entry to Taiz city.
The attack injured five followers of the commander of the military police, causing the damage to their military vehicles.
Recently, armed conflicts and ambushes between security leaders and leaders of military brigades in Taiz have increased over the background of corruption cases.
