Betrayal of Shabwa causes the fall of the third district in Marib
English - Tuesday 26 October 2021 الساعة 07:40 pmThe government found itself facing a new setback in the fateful battle with the Houthi militia, on the outskirts of the city of Marib, by losing the Juba district, on the southern outskirts of the oil province located in the east of the country.
Earlier, on Tuesday, the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, took control of the Joubah Center, taking advantage of the betrayal of the Brotherhood organization in the adjacent Shabwa governorate.
Al-Juba is the third district in Marib, east of Sanaa, to be overthrown by the Houthi militia, after the districts of Harib and Al-Abdiya, since they took control of the districts of Bayhan, west of Shabwa, without real fighting, last September.
This comes as the Brotherhood militia returned to escalate militarily against the Shabwani Elite Forces in the Al-Alam area in Jardan District, after the withdrawal of the Arab coalition forces from the area, in a move that would lift the cover from the Brotherhood organization, and expose its affiliation with the Houthi militia.
The recent field setbacks in Marib came as a result of the involvement of civil and military Brotherhood leaders, within the legitimacy system, in handing over Bayhan to the Houthi militia, after the latter had been for several months, incurring losses at the hands of the Murad tribes in the southern part of the governorate.
The handover of the "Brotherhood" opened the western gate of Shabwa, the way for the Houthis to penetrate into the heart of Marib, and break the Murad tribes, to complete their control over all the southern strip of the province from Rahba to Harib.
The sources confirm that there are understandings between the Brotherhood and the Houthis, regarding the Shabwa file, sponsored by regional countries such as Qatar, Iran and Turkey, because the confusion of the Arab coalition, and the expulsion of its forces from "Al-Alam" is a point at which the interests of these parties converge.
