Distress calls from flash floods in Marib and the surrounding governorates

Several Yemeni governorates have been subjected to heavy rains during the past hours, which led to a massive flow of floods through valleys, causing severe damage to the displacement camps and heavy losses in the agricultural fields.
Local residents said that heavy rains rained in most areas of Ma'rib and its neighboring governorates, in light of fears that torrential flows will continue to flow into the dam basin, where the water level has risen to record numbers.
They explained that torrential rains and floods had not been seen for decades in the directorates of Rahba and Mahliaj, south and southeast of Ma'rib, which led to massive damage to farms located in Wadi al-Lab Abu al-Abu Ashaa in al-Rahbh district, and torrential torrents also poured into the valleys of Mahilah, Musheiref, and Nabaa.
They added that the valleys facing it in Al-Shariyah district, north of Al-Bayda governorate, also witnessed massive floods heading to the Ma'rib Dam.
In this context, heavy rains continued since the morning in the western mountainous highlands of Marib, and in the valleys that flow into the Valley of Thanh from the neighboring governorates such as Dhamar.
In the district of Serwah, torrential torrents took place in the Al-Zour region and the surrounding valleys, such as the Mashjah Hailan, Al-Bara'a Al-Mathas, tribal Al-Balq, and Al-Tala Alhmara, such as Al-Jafinah and Mile.
Residents launched calls for relief for families who had been displaced a few days ago to the areas of Al-Hayal and Al-Sawabeen due to the high water levels in the dam basin, where the new areas of displacement had been completely submerged.
At the same time, they issued warnings to all the residents of the liquids, valleys, lanes and paths that the Zour region is flowing into.
In the Bani Dabyan district, east of Sanaa governorate, it witnessed a flow of torrential rains over Wadi Al Atfah to Hababiz, on its way to Wadi Thanh, then to the Ma'rib Dam.
Meanwhile, local residents in Al-Jawf governorate said that the rain rains for hours led to strong floods in Wadi Khub in Al-Jawf and they issued warnings to residents of the valleys to move to safe areas.
In Shabwa governorate, residents of the flow of torrents in the upper Merkha Valley confirmed, and indicated that these torrents are coming from Lajee side.
