On Monday, February 24, the engineering teams of the joint forces in the West Coast began dismantling a new minefield planted by the Houthi militia inside a residential neighborhood on the eastern outskirts of the city of Hodeidah.

An expert in the engineering team stated that the field extends about 500 meters in the Al-Masna neighborhood near the Red Sea Mills.

The joint forces have previously dismantled minefields in Al-Masna, Al-Mills, and its environs, extracted and removed large explosive devices and hundreds of different mines.

The expert added that an engineering team began dismantling and removing the field amid the widespread satisfaction of the people of the neighborhood, where the Houthi mines constitute a real nightmare for them.

He pointed out that the discovery, dismantling and extraction of the field came as part of the determined efforts of the joint forces to survey the liberated areas, especially the villages and residential neighborhoods most affected.

The Al-Masna neighborhood is considered one of the most affected neighborhoods. Dozens of its people, most of them women and children, were killed by mines laid by Houthi militias inside the neighborhood and on farms, public roads and sub roads before they were destroyed by the joint forces.

This is the third minefield of its kind to be discovered and dismantled by the engineering teams of the joint forces, the largest of which extends over an area of two kilometers in the same area.
