Looting revenues and stealing assets.. Al-Houthi violates the "Kamran" company and the "Omran" factory
English - Sunday 11 June 2023 الساعة 04:02 pmSince the first moment of their invasion of Sana'a in 2014, the Houthi militia, Iran's arm, has sought to impose its control over the most important governmental and national institutions and contributions that generate hundreds of millions of dollars a month for the state treasury.
The "Kamran" Company for Industry and Investment, and the Amran Cement Factory, are among the most important revenue establishments that the Houthi militia sought to target and control the decision of their management by appointing leaders loyal to them and directing their revenues to serve the coup project.
The "Kamran" company is a mixed sector, in which the government's contribution reaches 27.81%, the British Tobacco Company (BAT) owns 25%, the Yemeni Bank for Reconstruction and Development owns 13.66%, and 33% belongs to investors. Whereas, Amran Cement Factory is affiliated to the Yemeni General Establishment for Cement Industry and Marketing.
Over the past years, the revenues of the Kamaran Company for Industry and Investment and the Amran Factory remained under the direct and indirect grip of the Houthi authority, and the billions earned by the militias from those two pioneering institutions were used in favor of supporting war work, supplying the fronts and enriching the leaders of the first row of the Houthi militia.
According to proven statistics and numbers, Kamaran Company for Industry and Investment achieved large profits that reached about 6 billion riyals in 2014, while the company's financial reports revealed that its taxes and customs duties invoices for the year 2015 amounted to 23.9 billion riyals.
For its part, reports revealed that the revenues of the Amran Cement Factory amount annually to about 30 billion Yemeni riyals, and a large part of these amounts are shared by the Houthi leaders under many names.
Indulging in looting
The militias were not satisfied with the process of looting the profits and revenues from the two institutions, as Houthi terrorism penetrated further by initiating other looting operations of the company's and factory's property and confiscating its assets, especially the lands. And kidnap any employees who refuse their directions and obstruct their plans and projects to seize that property.
Local sources in Sana'a revealed financial and administrative corruption in the corridors of Kamran Company, after the company's board chairman, Abdul Hafez Al-Sama, was subjected to the decisions of Houthi leaders not to supply all revenues to the state treasury and to hide part of it in private accounts.
The sources pointed out: Before the war, the Kamran Investment Company used to supply billions to the state treasury, and the Houthis are still harvesting these taxes into their own pockets.
A few days ago, the Houthi militia began looting about 7,000 bricks owned by the Amran Cement Factory for the benefit of an association called "Nebras Charity", which started the construction process on this land. The disbursement came under the directives of the Houthi leader, Ahmed Hamid, who was appointed as director of the Presidency Office in Sana'a.
The sources said: A Houthi military force is protecting the construction work inside the factory area, under the pretext of setting up charitable projects. Pointing out that handing over the land to the Al-Nibras Association is nothing but camouflage for a massive looting of the factory's property.
Arrest and Threat
The revelation of the scandal of looting the floor of the Amran factory prompted the Houthi militia to launch a campaign of arrests against the workers and employees of the factory who leaked the document that carried the directives of the Houthi leaders, as well as the kidnapping of the employees who participated in the vigil condemning the looting, which was held in front of the factory gate a few days ago.
According to sources in the factory, about 25 employees were kidnapped, especially those who participated in the protests condemning the Houthis' looting of land. Noting that the abductees were transferred to the Preventive and National Security prison and were subjected to investigation after fabricating malicious charges against them.
The sources indicated that the protesting workers went out to express their rejection of the looting of the factory lands, as it threatens to stop work in it. They explained that what was looted is the private property of the factory, which will benefit from it in the future. It may not be disposed of in any way.
In the "Kamran" company, the militias, through decisions to appoint many qualified cadres, were excluded from their positions in the various departments of the company. And it appointed a number of its loyalists as part of the nationalization plan for governmental and revenue institutions and facilities.
Filthy rich
Many Houthi leaders have emerged, which acquire large proportions of the revenues of the Kamaran Company for Industry and Investment and the Amran Cement Factory, and these leaders are now living in obscene wealth due to the looting of public funds and state revenues allocated to disbursing salaries and improving services to citizens.
At the head of these Houthi leaders is Abu Ali al-Hakim, head of the so-called Houthi intelligence agency, who issued directives to appoint many leaders loyal to him within the Kamran Company for Tobacco and Cigarettes, as well as the leader Ahmed Hamid, who is appointed to the position of Director of the Presidency of the Republic, who receives percentages of the revenues Amran Cement Factory. Not to mention prominent Houthi leaders who receive a large percentage of the company's and factory's money and harness it for their own interests.
The sources pointed out that the land of the Amran Cement Factory, which was robbed, was handed over to the Nibras Al-Khair Association, which is owned by the brother of the head of the so-called Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, in the largest seizure of areas belonging to the state.
According to the sources, Al-Mashat's brother has actually begun to conduct construction work to establish buildings belonging to the association to serve the Houthis, without taking into account the damage that construction work will cause to the factory and its economic activity.
The sources added that the Houthi leader, appointed to the position of deputy director of the Amran Cement Factory, called Muhammad Mohsen Al-Suraimi, supervises the depletion of the factory's treasury by issuing many directives to spend huge sums of money in favor of Houthi leaders and supporting sectarian events and events held by the militias.
The sources confirmed that the Al-Sarimi leader is accused of stealing two billion Yemeni riyals from the factory's profits under the cover of "aid and support for events .
