The Presidential Council meets the Saudi Minister of Defense to revive the peace process in Yemen

 The President and members of the Presidential Leadership Council reviewed with the Saudi Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman, the latest developments in efforts to revive the peace process in Yemen through a comprehensive political process under the auspices of the United Nations, which guarantees an end to human suffering and the restoration of security, stability and development in the country.

 The Yemeni news agency, Saba, reported in its government version that the head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Muhammad al-Alimi, received bin Salman in the presence of council members Aidarous al-Zubaidi, Sultan al-Arada, Tariq Saleh, Abdul Rahman al-Mahrami, Dr.  Abdul Malik.

The agency stated that the meeting discussed the distinguished bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, developments in the Yemeni situation, and the course of economic and service reforms led by the Presidential Leadership Council and the government.

The government agency said: President Al-Alimi and members of the Presidential Council appreciated during the meeting, which was attended by Prime Minister Maeen Abdul-Malik, the Saudi positions on the side of the Yemeni people, including its initiatives and continuous efforts to end the war and establish peace, and its humanitarian interventions, while Prince Khalid renewed his country's commitment to supporting Yemen and its political leadership and achieving the aspirations of its people for peace and stability.

Media sources have talked about understandings and a new initial agreement that will be announced under the auspices of the United Nations, which includes the renewal of the humanitarian truce and the launch of a comprehensive political negotiation process to end the conflict, as well as economic and humanitarian steps to build confidence, including the resumption of oil exports, the payment of salaries of state employees from its revenues, and the lifting of the ban on ports controlled by the Houthis and Sana'a International Airport, opening closed roads, lifting the siege of Taiz, and releasing all prisoners and abductees.
