Aden, NewsYemen:

Twenty-three human rights and community organizations strongly condemned the verdict issued by the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - which extended the imprisonment of the artist, Intisar Al-Hammadi, for a period of five years, and described it as comes within a terrorist methodology practiced by the militia against Yemeni women.

In a joint statement, the organizations denounced the kidnapping of the artist Al-Hammadi and the subsequent mutilation and defamation, as she was subjected during her detention to all kinds of psychological and physical torture and forced under pressure to confess to the false charges against her without any evidence.

The statement described this ruling as unfair, which comes as part of a terrorist methodology practiced by the Houthi militia against women in Yemen, reproducing the methods and means of terrorist organizations and dictatorial ideological regimes in suppressing women and concealing their voice.

The statement said: The Houthi militia has practiced all violations against Yemeni women, such as kidnapping, torture, enforced disappearance and death sentences, and imposed restrictions on women's personal freedoms, similar to the Taliban and the Iranian regime.

The statement pointed out that Yemeni women live in areas controlled by the Houthi militia in difficult conditions that are considered the worst stage in the history of Yemen, in addition to the violations committed by the militias against female activists and human rights defenders. Yemeni women in general are subjected to violence, exclusion, ignorance and restriction of their freedom.

The statement noted that the Houthi militia pursues a policy of excluding women from public work and participation in defending rights and freedoms and deliberately restricting their freedom by taking a number of measures and decisions that violate the Yemeni law and constitution.

He pointed out that Houthi circulars appear from time to time restricting women's freedom of movement and travel, and issuing decisions to abolish women's sectors in ministries under militia control.

The statement called on the international community, international organizations, the United Nations and all free people in the world to urgently put pressure on the Houthi militia to release Intisar Al-Hammadi and his female colleagues, stop violations against Yemeni women and release all detainees in their prisons.

He called for pressure on the Houthi militia to cancel all decisions, procedures and restrictions that it previously imposed on Yemeni women to undermine the rights, freedoms and gains that are guaranteed and guaranteed by the Yemeni constitution, legislation in force and international agreements for women, and to find effective mechanisms to protect Yemeni women from the militia's oppression and not to diminish their rights and undermine their status.
