English - Sunday 15 January 2023 الساعة 08:36 amFlies and activists of the terrorist Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, do not hesitate to slander the honor of Yemeni women and describe them in the worst descriptions as long as they do not respond to its goals or implement its desires.
And while the artist, Intisar Al-Hammadi, is still in militia detention centers in Sana’a, after charges of drug promotion and prostitution were filed without a single evidence proving that, the Yemeni activist Sakina, the daughter of a prominent leader in the Houthi militia, and the youth minister in her unrecognized government, Hassan Zaid, is exposed to the worst. A campaign that could target any woman in the world.
This campaign is not new. Rather, it began since the assassination of her father in the center of Sana'a in late 2020 , by unknown gunmen, and escalated with every tweet published by the activist, revealing details that might help find out who was behind her father's assassination.
Sakina showed pictures of responses to her Twitter posts, which began with threats and reached the point of slandering her honor and honor.
Sakina said, "I still receive threats, including the threat of fabricating files for me! Accusation, provocation, ridicule, and the last one is slandering me like this very clearly! And I do not know what my crime is?! Except that I am the daughter of Hassan Zaid! No one will do justice to me or protect me, for the only behavior by which I preserve my dignity It is my resignation from the Al-Haq party because it is an ally of the authority in Sana'a."
Sakina called on the security authorities to identify the person who slandered her on her page and hold him responsible for any harm that might happen to her, confirming at the same time that she had submitted many reports regarding threats and abuses she was subjected to, but the security and judicial authorities in Sana'a did not respond to them.
And international reports issued at different times in the past year 2022 AD talked about the violations that Yemeni women are subjected to, amounting to kidnapping, enforced disappearance, sexual extortion, and defamation of their reputation.
A statement issued by the American Center for Justice on International Women's Day, August 8, 2022, indicated that women in Yemen are subjected to systematic violations practiced by the Houthi militia, including the issuance of extrajudicial death sentences, kidnapping, enforced disappearance, and humiliation. Rather, these violations have reached the point of rape, exploitation, and sexual extortion inside and outside. detention centers, tarnishing their reputation, and pushing their families to abandon and disavow them.
While a report issued by the Group of Experts on Yemen of the Security Council Committee, in February of last year, documented a large number of Houthi militia violations against women in Yemen, among those acts: kidnapping and disappearance of female activists, rape, fabrication of malicious accusations, and sham trials against professionals. in different sectors.
The report cited nine cases in which the Houthis abducted and detained politically or professionally active women because they opposed their ideological views or political orientation.
The report stated that the Houthis used the allegations of "prostitution" as a pretext to limit the provision of community support to former detainees, prevent their active participation in the local community, and ensure that they do not threaten the Houthi regime.
The report said that, to this end, the militias recorded immoral videos, and kept them to continue using them as a means of pressure against any opposition from these women, and as a means to deter other women leaders, and intimidate them from falling into the same fate.
