The terrorist Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, has inaugurated 45 tax collection centers for qat sales in Sana'a and at the entrances to the cities under its control, according to the "barcode" system for electronic collection.

Sources in Sana'a told NewsYemen that the leadership of the Houthi militia at the Tax Authority launched what it called the actual electronic collection process for qat sales taxes after completing the establishment and equipping of 45 electronic collection centers in cooperation with the Agricultural Credit Bank "CAC Bank" through what it called the "Mobile Money" wallet.  .

The militia has deployed its centers to collect and supply qat sales taxes (Yislah, Azraqeen, Al-Qubtain centers in Sana’a, several centers in Dhamar, Abs area centers and Afar customs port in Al-Bayda, Al-Sahoul and Ibb orphanage centers, Bab Al-Naqah centers, Al-Sham, Jabal Ras, Deir Abd Rabbo, the old market  In the districts of Bajil and Jabal Ras in Hodeidah, Damt in Al-Dhalea, and centers in Al-Hawban, Taiz, Hajjah and Amran centers).

According to the sources, the militia's tax authority is seeking to complete the inventory and review process at the qat tax checkpoints with the aim of finalizing manual collection by the beginning of next year.

The Houthi militia reaps hundreds of billions of riyals annually from tax revenues for qat sales in the areas under its control.

During the past month, the Houthi militia implemented the electronic collection of qat sales on an experimental basis in four centers in the Municipality and Sana'a Governorate, as well as two centers in Amran and Dhamar.

One of the qat sellers Al-Ansi told NewsYemen that the militia, during its pilot process of electronic collection of qat sales, raised the price of a kilo twice to 700 riyals.

Activist Nayef Al-Mikhlafi said: "With all accuracy and care, all state revenues are collected in a precedent that Yemen has not witnessed.. But the strange thing is where all these huge revenues go despite the non-disbursement of salaries and the non-disbursement of expenses to government agencies and the non-implementation and work of any service projects.. God bless you, O God."  The people of Yemen who are fighting for the state that takes from you and does not give you!

Citizen Bakr Al-Ansi commented: "The Houthis are creative in looting and collection projects against the simple citizen. They fight him even in his strength and the sustenance of his children and his only source of income. This is not a rescue authority as you claim. This is a waste government."
