According to the agency, certain Houthi leaders in positions in the Ministry of Interior visited some of these prisons in Sana'a and the capital's secretariat and reviewed their equipment and additions.
Security sources in Sana'a told (Newsyemen) that the Ministry of Interior has created and rehabilitated prisons in order to accommodate more detainees. In reference to the militias' continuing to carry out campaigns of arrests outside the framework of the law in the coming period against their opponents.
And it reported that the Houthis spent millions of riyals in order to expand the prisons.
Human rights reports revealed that the Houthi militia runs 639 prisons, including 230 official prisons and 298 secret ones, in addition to the creation of 111 private prisons located in the basements of government institutions. The rest was distributed among the rest of the provinces under its control.
