Abyan, NewsYemen, private:

Terrorist groups take the rugged mountainous areas between Abyan, Shabwa and Al-Bayda as their starting point for carrying out terrorist operations against the southern armed forces, facilitated by Brotherhood forces stationed in the central regions of Abyan Governorate.

The southern armed forces are preparing to start the second phase of Operation Seham al-Sharq, to respond to terrorist elements, purify the central areas of Abyan Governorate, and secure them from terrorist organizations.

The southern armed forces had announced a few days ago the completion of the first phase of Operation Seham al-Sharq, after its deployment in the coastal line in the Ahwar district, and its arrival in the Jahin area and the Arqoub mountains.

The south lost about 25 martyrs and wounded, in a treacherous operation on Tuesday aimed at protecting this armed presence, which will be strangled by the "Seham al-Sharq".  However, the attack failed on the ground, and the south moved in support of Seham al-Sharq and condemnation of terrorism.

evil triangle

According to the engineer, Masoud Zain, there is a semi-empty mountainous geographical triangle between Abyan and Shabwa and open to al-Bayda on rugged mountainous roads from which al-Qaeda elements take a position to base and launch their operations against the southern forces.

He stressed that the response to terrorist operations in Ahwar and Shabwa cannot be by eliminating the elements with separate operations, but rather by one joint operation in Abyan and Shabwa that combs this mountainous triangle with forces from the people of the region and with the support of the rest of the southern governorates, and then securing this triangle with a stable military presence that cuts off any attempt to slip from the direction of Al-Bayda.

He pointed out that Aden was not able to overcome the terrorist operations in 2016 only after securing the Tuban district in Lahj governorate from those elements that were using that geographical extension of the movement and departure to Aden.

For his part, journalist Hussein al-Hanashi said that the terrorist elements that carried out the terrorist operation in Ahwar, Abyan, came out of the Brotherhood's camps in the central and al-Bayda regions, explaining that these elements' weapons, information, and allocations came from those camps that were disbursed to them as soldiers and leaders.

Al-Hanashi spoke, in a live broadcast on his Facebook page, last week, about the danger that the central regions of Abyan Governorate remain under the control of the Muslim Brotherhood under the pretext of reconciliation and southern tolerance.

He said that leaving the central region with Brotherhood camps and communicating with Thara and Al-Bayda, a security and military disaster that will strike the international line and create a war of attrition for the southern forces from terrorism that infiltrates through Thara coming from Al-Bayda and exiting the Brotherhood's camps.

A member of the Southern Dialogue Team of the Transitional Council, Ahmed al-Rubaizi, called on the southern forces to expand military operations and tighten the noose around terrorist elements in Abyan and Shabwa.

Al-Rubaizi said, in a tweet, that there is no longer any room for procrastination in the immediate start of implementing the second phase of Operation Seham al-Sharq to pursue terrorist elements in the regions of Abyan, Shabwa and Wadi Hadhramaut.

"If the noose is not tightened and it is besieged from all sides, the terrorist forces will continue to exploit the security gaps to commit more terrorist operations," he added.
