Abyan, NewsYemen, private:

By confronting the terrorist attack, the southern forces thwarted a plan to close the international coastal line linking Shabwa governorate with the capital, Aden, after extremist elements attempted to control a security point in the Ahwar district of Abyan governorate at dawn on Tuesday.

The attempt carried out by al-Qaeda elements is the second after a precedent planned by the Houthi militias last month through the "Al-Halhel" road that connects Lawdar with Mukayras failed, and the campaign of Arrows of the East, announced by the southern forces, failed.

After the purification of Shabwa governorate from Brotherhood forces last month, the Houthi and Takfiri militias mobilized to relieve pressure on the Brotherhood's forces.  Abyan witnessed movements of al-Qaeda and the Houthi militias to thwart the purification process of Shabwa.

After the clashes in Ataq ended and the Brotherhood forces left the city, and suddenly, the Houthi militia announced the opening of Al-Halhal Road after removing the mines they had planted and filling in what they had detonated during its closure months ago.

The sudden Houthi move, many warned of it and that it was behind a malicious scheme, and according to the sources, the militias were planning to go down in agreement with personalities and Brotherhood leaders to Lawdar and Shaqra and to close the road linking Shabwa to Aden.

All these steps came to stop the supplies of the southern forces to Shabwa and an attempt to prevent the purification of Shabwa from Brotherhood militias, but the announcement of the launch of the "Arrows of the East" campaign in Abyan thwarted the Houthi plan.

After the announcement of the military campaign of the southern forces in Abyan, the Houthi militia closed the Halhal road for no reason, and even blew it up and planted mines on it.

The bombing and mining of the road after the launch of the campaign confirmed what politicians and activists warned of that Iran's arm was seeking to go down and close the road leading to Shabwa governorate.

Observers confirmed - at the time - that the groups would not leave the line linking Shabwa with the capital, Aden, and would try in every way to close it, which was during the Ahwar attack at dawn on Tuesday, which was thwarted by the southern forces.

The terrorist operation in Ahwar and the movement of the Houthi militia in the Aqabat al-Halhel confirm the clear service and alliance between the Brotherhood and the Houthi groups, which is no longer hidden from anyone and becomes clear to the observer through what the media of the two groups deals with.

Experts expect that terrorist groups will continue their attempts to close the international road and target the southern forces if the forces do not advance and cleanse all areas of Abyan governorate.

There are still districts such as al-Wudaya, Mudiyah and al-Mahfad in which extremist elements are spread, and they have become mobilization areas for terrorist groups from which operations are launched to target forces in Ahwar and Shaqra, and by advancing towards these areas, Abyan turns the page of the groups that have tampered with the governorate for years.
