Abyan, NewsYemen, Private:

The people of Abyan are pinning their hopes on the southern leaders in the Presidential Leadership Council and the Transitional Council, to reform the governorate’s conditions after years of being monopolized by a political party without any development or services.

Abyan, which was destroyed as a result of the political struggles of the previous authorities, is waiting for the attention and fairness of the political leadership of the Presidential and Transitional Council, as a consideration against what it has suffered in the past years.

Observers believe that the conditions are ripe for the leaders of the Presidential and Transitional Council, to put Abyan on the priority list, after its military leaders announced turning the page on the differences and aligning themselves behind the Transitional Council.

A member of the Leadership Council, head of the Transitional Council, Major General Aidarous al-Zubaidi, said the day before yesterday that Abyan represents the south's flank, its geographical distance, and its food basket.

Al-Zubaidi stressed the importance of intensifying efforts and working to remove the causes of tension in the Abyan governorate during the last stage, and to redress the damage in a way that calms souls, creates a state of solidarity and solidarity, and opens a new page in which the interest of the south is above all interests and considerations.

Al-Zubaidi affirmed his readiness to work to overcome the difficulties facing the security work in Abyan governorate, and to provide all aspects of support to the security services in the governorate to enable them to carry out their tasks at the required level.

Al-Zubaidi called on the leaders of the security services in Abyan to intensify their efforts and raise the degree of operational coordination between them, in a way that enhances the state of security and stability and preserves the general tranquility of citizens.

The southerners demand the political leadership to restore Abyan to its position, according to its importance in the southern scene and the strategic depth of the capital, Aden.

It seems that the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council is keen to rid Abyan governorate of terrorist groups, as a first stage, and then develop it with projects and attention to the agricultural aspect in it.

Journalist Wajdi Al-Saadi expects Abyan governorate to receive projects and support from the Presidential Council, after reconciliation and tolerance that spared the governorate from fighting and conflicts.

Al-Saadi said, in a statement to NewsYemen, that the southern leaders put the interest of Abyan and the south above all, and chose security and stability instead of chaos and fighting, and stood in one boat behind one leader.

Al-Saadi stressed that it is these bold and courageous stances among the southern leaders that will bring peace and stability, and everyone will reap its fruits.

For his part, journalist Saleh Abu Awdal said, in a statement to NewsYemen, that the Abyan governorate needs to address the preservation of rights for all without detracting from any party at the expense of the other.

Abu Odal explained that some people went to portray what happened as reconciliation and tolerance and that Abyan was a rebel, and this hadith is a great injustice against the southern governorate, explaining that Abyan was never outside the southern consensus at all, but rather was the leader of the nation's ship towards independence.

The official in the Southern Transitional Council, Nasr Al-Esai, praised the steps of rapprochement and southern reconciliation that the Abyan governorate witnessed recently, stressing that it is an example towards closing ranks to face the current challenges surrounding the south.

Al-Esai said, in a statement to NewsYemen, that these conciliatory steps are important, but the most important thing is to activate the principle of reconciliation and tolerance more, and to move towards the development of Abyan Governorate, which was deliberately destroyed during the past thirty years.

Al-Esai explained, in the context of his statement, that development should include various economic, social, cultural and other sectors, so that it would be the ideal model for the rest of the southern governorates in applying the principle of southern reconciliation and tolerance.

Al-Esai added that the principle of reconciliation and tolerance is the only guarantor of victory for the southern project, stressing that the greatest responsibility lies with the political and military leadership in the south, which history will not show mercy if it fails to perform its sacred duty towards its people and people in the southern governorates.

In a previous statement, the Southern Academy, Dr. Jacqueline Al-Batani, said that she is confident that the leadership of the Transitional Council has a plan to include Ebenian cadres of competencies that will work for the benefit of the south and will advance the governorate in the near future.

Al-Batani stressed that there are many development projects on the agricultural side that will restore some of the glories of the Abyan Delta.
