Completing the Riyadh Agreement in Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra is another test before the Presidential Council after securing Abyan and Shabwa
English - Tuesday 30 August 2022 الساعة 05:05 pmThe Presidential and Southern Transitional Command Council restored security and military stability to Shabwa governorate again, after the Brotherhood's rebel militias were defeated, and the Shabwa Defense Forces, "the former Shabwani elite", took over their camps in the governorate.
The Shabwa Defense Forces took over their former camps and security points in the districts of Shabwa Governorate, in accordance with the provisions of the military and security part of the Riyadh Agreement, and the directives of the Presidential Command Council.
The security stability in Shabwa came after the efforts of the Presidential Leadership Council, which promised to re-correct legitimacy, reform its course, and arrange the situation in the liberated southern regions.
The Security Belt forces were deployed in the directorates of Abyan governorate to secure them from terrorist groups, and the Shaqra military and security forces took over their camps in Zanzibar under the directives of a member of the Leadership Council, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, and in implementation of the Riyadh Agreement.
The leader of the Transitional Council, Ahmed al-Rubaizi, confirmed that what happened in Abyan in terms of southern cohesion and military deployment comes in implementation of the most important provisions of the Riyadh Agreement, which is the military and security clause.
Al-Rubaizi said, in a tweet to him on Twitter, that the southern armed forces, backed by the Abyan security forces and the Special Forces, are securing the governorate as part of Operation Seham al-Sharq.
He added that the southerners, with this military and security deployment in Abyan, thwarted the plans of the Brotherhood of Yemen, which was seeking to implement a new rebellion in the province.
It is certain that, after securing Shabwa, the Presidential Council will move to Hadhramaut Valley and Al-Mahra Governorate to complete the implementation of the military and security part of the Riyadh Agreement.
The southerners demand the Presidential Command Council and the Arab Alliance, as the sponsor of the Riyadh Agreement, to complete the military and security aspect, which includes the exit of the Brotherhood's forces from Wadi Hadhramaut and the replacement of the Hadrami Elite Forces.
Southern voices demanding the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement rose in the Hadhramaut Valley, where angry popular rallies took place this week in the city of Tarim, calling for the departure of the First Military District forces and the replacement of the Hadrami Elite Forces.
The prominent leader of the Southern Transitional Council, Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, stressed that implementing the Riyadh Agreement in Hadhramout and Al-Mahra Valley represents a major challenge before the Presidential Leadership Council.
Al-Khabaji said, in a post on Facebook, that the most important and next step and challenge to the Presidential Leadership Council and the sponsors of the Riyadh Agreement after the success of the implementation of the military part in Shabwa and Abyan is the departure of the Brotherhood forces from Wadi Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra.
For his part, the leader of the Southern Transitional Council, Anis Al-Sharafi, said that the defeat of Al-Houthi will not come with the northern forces taking possession of the southern oil.
Al-Sharafi wrote on Twitter: "If the northern forces in Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra do not take the lead in the war against the Houthis, then any talk about liberating the north from the grip of the terrorist Houthi militia is pure slander and clowning."
He explained that the Houthi defeat will not come with the north's acquisition of the south's oil, and the southerners' demand to leave their land and wealth to the Houthi family and his clan and go to liberate the north.
It seems that the exit of the Brotherhood's first military region forces from Hadhramaut and Mahra has become a foregone conclusion by implementing the provisions of the Riyadh Agreement, whether by peace or by military option, as the presidential and transitional have options to use in the event of a Brotherhood rebellion there.
Journalist Khaled Salman said that the governorates of Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra have become closer to their recovery than the jugular vein, stressing that they are preparing for a near salvation.
Salman believes, in a tweet, that the coalition forces' failure to intervene and their objection to the transitional's unification of southern geography means that there is an internationally supported green light related to the final solution arrangements.
While the Hadrami journalist, Muhammad Bu Eran, confirmed that the decision to liberate Hadhramaut was taken, and soon every inch of Wadi Hadhramaut will be cleansed.
