A broad popular rejection in Al-Mahra for the decision to appoint a brotherhood member as commander of the special forces in the governorate
English - Wednesday 24 August 2022 الساعة 06:09 pmThe people of Al-Mahra Governorate refused to appoint a Brotherhood figure from outside the governorate as commander of the special forces in the governorate, stressing that Al-Mahra has the competencies and cadres to manage its affairs and does not need a brotherhood member from outside the governorate.
And the pro-Brotherhood Minister of Interior Ibrahim Haidan issued a decision appointing a Brotherhood leader from the northern governorates as commander of the special forces in Al-Mahra governorate.
Activists from the people of Al-Mahra published a decision by Minister Haidan to appoint Saleh Muhammad Nasser Al-Mawri as commander of the special forces in the governorate.
They stressed that the Maori is a prominent member of the Yemeni Reform Association "the Brotherhood" and one of the people of the northern governorates, which is contrary to the agreements and the outcomes of the dialogue, which affirmed that each governorate is governed by its people.
Politicians, tribal figures and media in Al-Mahra governorate said that they would not accept these decisions through which "Haidan" seeks to stir up chaos and strife in the governorate, calling on the Leadership Council to remove the Brotherhood minister who caused chaos in the governorates of Shabwa and Hadhramaut with his exciting Brotherhood decisions.
Sultan Issa bin Abdullah bin Afrar, head of the General Council of the People of Mahra and Socotra, commented on the decision of Minister Haidan, on Twitter, by saying: Al-Mahra possesses national cadres and qualified competencies to manage its affairs like other governorates, and there is no room for arbitrary decisions and acceptance of the assignment of military or civilian leaders other than people of the Governorate
Sultan Ibn Afrar called on everyone to stand united and confront the imminent dangers that threaten the governorate and its people. According to him.
Vice-President of the Transitional Council in Al-Mahra Governorate, Hassan Balhaf, confirmed that Brotherhood Minister Haidan's decision aims to sedition in the governorate.
Balhaf said in a tweet to him, while the presidency is working to implement the decisions of the Riyadh agreement and consultations and to enable the people of the southern governorates to administer their governorates, Haidan's decisions aimed at sedition continue in Al-Mahra through the appointment of the director of the special forces from Al-Bayda.
Balhaf called on the Al-Mahra authority and its men to reject this appointment, as happened last week in Hadhramaut Governorate, which refused to appoint a Brotherhood leader from Marib Governorate for the security of the valley.
Politician Abdullah bin Ghafila Kalashat considered the decision to appoint the Maori brothers as marginalization, exclusion and underestimation of the competencies of the Mahra people.
Kalashat tweeted, “We condemn the decision of the Minister of Interior, Major General Haidan, to appoint a non-natives of the Mahra special forces commander, as if there are no Mahra security cadres that can efficiently manage a security facility like this.”
Kalashat pointed out that this reprehensible decision by Haidan is to marginalize and exclude the people of Mahra.
In turn, the media activist, Jamal Ahmed Al-Aqhafi, tweeted saying, "Let the Minister of Interior, Haidan know, that any change or appointment from outside Al-Mahra will be met with rejection by the people of Mahra."
Al-Aqhafi added, “The Presidential Command Council must put an end to such provocations or strife in the land of Mahra.”
Political activist Issa bin Nahil al-Qumairi commented by saying, mobilize as much as you can, for your destiny is demise and you will not be stronger than the Shabwa militias, which have been feeding on oil and revenues for the past three years, but it soon ended in front of the heroes of the south.
Al-Qumairi indicated that Haidan's decision we do not recognize, and we consider it the dance of the slaughtered one and the inevitable end for him and those like him.
