The terrorist Houthi militia has deliberately ignored Yemenis since the start of the war, as it has gradually worked to transform the universities of Sanaa and Dhamar into platforms to perpetuate the sectarian approach and investment facilities in its favor that work to blackmail and exploit male and female students.
Despite the significant decline in the number of male and female students enrolled in the faculties of Sana’a and Dhamar universities year after year since the Houthi militia invaded Sana’a and Yemeni cities in 2014, the group’s leadership doubled tuition fees and reduced the admission rate of students into the public system to push them to the option of private expenses.
Sanaa University
The leaders of the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm of Sana’a University, closed the parallel education system at the Faculty of Medicine with the aim of forcing male and female students wishing to enroll in it to register in the private alimony system and pay an estimated sum of $6,000 annually, or $36,000, during the six years, which The Houthis expanded it and turned it into an alternative system to the parallel system for profit and exploitation.
Student sources at the University of Sanaa told (Newsyemen) that a number of male and female students who had previously announced their acceptance in the lists of students accepted in the College of Computer and Information Technology and the College of Medicine, the militia dropped their names from the lists without any justification, and offered them to register in the special alimony system with the aim of blackmailing them financially. .
The sources added that some male and female students, when they did not find someone to do justice to them, decided to enroll in other colleges, and others left with frustration and despair and decided not to continue the educational path for this year, which would achieve the militia’s goals in ignoring society in order to transform the realization of its dirty agenda.
The sources pointed out that the militia replaced the names of the students it had dropped from the lists of admission with the names of students from the families of its dynastic leaders and others from the families of its dead in a racist and regional discriminatory act.
Recently, the militia opened new departments in some faculties of Sana’a University with the aim of collection and financial gain under the allegations of opening registration doors to obtain doctorate degrees - which are unrecognized - in the absence of the academic staff that was exposed during the years of the war to a brutal and systematic war in all respects by the Houthi group Which prompted many of them to leave teaching and move to private private universities.
Dhamar University
Dhamar State University is no less bad than Sanaa University, which does not please a friend or an enemy, as it is said, the militia leadership at Dhamar University raised tuition fees at the Faculty of Medicine in an unprecedented and record manner.
According to the document of the conditions, pledge and commitment of the student’s private expense form at the Faculty of Human Medicine at Dhamar University - NewsYemen obtained a copy of it - the militia approved (4,500 US dollars) for each academic year, provided that the six-year fees are paid at once upon registration, i.e. an amount (27 thousand). dollars) and never returned in the event of withdrawal, failure, default, dismissal, transfer from college, death or for any reason whatsoever. These fees do not include the annual activities and laboratories fees that the rest of the students must pay each year
The militia’s raising of tuition fees at the universities of Dhamar and Sana’a sparked widespread resentment and ridicule among activists, jurists and academics on social media, considering that tuition fees at the universities of Dhamar and Sana’a are more expensive than universities in Europe. Where many activists compared the low level of education compared to studying medicine in German universities with a reasonable amount estimated at (500 euros) approximately (3500 euros) in all its years and in academic universities with high academic education, and another says, studying medicine in Turkish universities in English is fifty A thousand Turkish liras means 2700 dollars a year in fees. The total for all years is $11,000.
sectarian platforms
The Houthi militia was not satisfied with the deterioration in education, changing the curricula and their sects in basic, preparatory and secondary schools, but they also worked to change the majority of the administrative staff in Sana’a and Dhamar universities, starting with its president and deputies, as well as the deans of colleges, and the rest of the administrators with people loyal to them, and most of the academic cadres were dispensed with. It confiscated their salaries for years, abused and kidnapped them, expelled their families from university housing, and dismissed dozens of professors traveling outside the country who were not under their management, confiscating their freedoms and throwing them in prison on the accusation that they would go to liberated areas to receive their salaries.
And in light of these arbitrary and repressive practices to which the highest educational elite in society are exposed. As part of the Houthis' strategy to humiliate and insult the Yemeni mind, and insult the public consciousness. Many of them were forced to perform the cry in universities, turning it into sectarian platforms, forcing them to hold seminars and discussion workshops for what they called scientific research, quotes from the dead lieutenant of the militia founder Hussein al-Houthi, and the lectures of the terrorist Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, and to hold their sectarian activities and events, and forcing them to attend "cultural courses" for the ideology And the literature of the sectarian group imported from Tehran and the seminaries of Qom and Karbala, which prompted the world not to recognize the outcomes of the universities of Sana’a and Dhamar.
