Aden, NewsYemen:

Head of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, said that any conflict between comrades-in-arms will serve the Houthi coup militia and their Iranian expansionist project in the region.

Al-Alimi, in a statement issued by him against the background of the recent Shabwa events, affirmed that the council will not accept or allow its weapons to be directed to anything other than the common enemy of all Yemenis, in reference to the Houthi militias.. He appealed in this regard to the political forces and components to embody the spirit of consensus and partnership without exclusion and to work on unity.

Factions and military and security units loyal to the Brotherhood rebelled against the local authority in Shabwa, against the background of the decision of the head of the security committee in the governorate to dismiss a number of security leaders because they were behind the security tension witnessed in the city of Ataq, the provincial capital, last July.

Despite the intervention of the Presidential Command Council and the issuance of a series of decisions confirming the moves of the local authority to enhance security, the rebels insisted on their rebellion and brought in reinforcements from outside the governorate and used terrorist elements and bombed citizens' homes and residential facilities before the Shabwa Defense Forces and the Giants Brigades entered to put down the rebellion.

Al-Alimi considered the Shabwa events an additional lesson in the importance of circumventing the authority of the state and its right to monopolize force and take all means to enforce its will and protect its citizens.

He said that the members of the Leadership Council were in a state of continuous meetings to find out about these unfortunate events and work to address them in the spirit of consensus in accordance with the announcement of the transfer of power, but the events in the field - unfortunately - were dragging us into the conflict away from the spirit of this consensus that came under the announcement of the transfer of power with the conciliation of  God, then, with the efforts of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

He referred to the council's quick response to cut off the strife, hold those responsible to account, and support the symbol and prestige of the state represented by the local authority and its leadership in order to stop the bloodshed and enforce the will of the state.  A number of measures were taken, including the dismissal of some leaders in the province, in addition to other instructions to normalize the situation, including the formation of a committee headed by the Minister of Defense and the membership of the Minister of Interior and five members of the Joint Military Security Committee in accordance with the announcement of the transfer of power. This committee will investigate the facts and find out the reasons that led to  Losing the lives of our sons in the dear Shabwa governorate, determining the responsibility of the local authority and the military and security leaders and their role in these events, and submitting the results to the Presidential Leadership Council to take appropriate legal measures.

He also stressed the importance of the pivotal and leading role of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, with the cohesion and success of the Presidential Leadership Council in achieving the goal of restoring the state and enhancing security and stability in the liberated areas, with the participation of all anti-coup forces.

Al-Alimi pledged that it would be a factor of partnership and consensus, rejecting exclusion or revenge, and not accepting the directing of arms to our comrades and partners in the battle to restore the state and the republican system, and that he would work with members of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, and the Military and Security Committee to achieve this, and to unify and integrate all military and security units.  Under the responsibility of the Ministries of Defense and Interior, and with the support and backing of the coalition leadership, because this is the best way to achieve the goals for which the Council was established.
