Shabwa, NewsYemen, private:

Former Interior Minister Ahmed Al-Maisari launched a violent attack against the Presidential Leadership Council, against the backdrop of ending the rebellion led by military and security formations loyal to the Brotherhood in Ataq, the capital of Shabwa governorate.

Al-Maisari, in a video speech broadcast by the Brotherhood's Al-Mahra TV channel, commenting on the events in Ataq, attacked the Presidential Leadership Council and said that it was "illegitimate and unconstitutional...imposed by Saudi Arabia and the UAE and does not have any legitimacy."

While Al-Maisari expressed his sadness over the resolution of matters in Ataq, he vowed that “the aftermath of the Ataq events will not be the same as before.” He added: “The battle is not over yet, and we will not leave Yemen to Saudi Arabia and the UAE and their tools.”

Al-Maisari promised the Arab coalition what he called "multiple other options to confront the conspiracy of the Saudi-UAE coalition after what happened in Shabwa," he said, claiming that these options "will not cross the mind of the coalition."

Al-Maisari’s attack coincided with a similar attack by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Abdulaziz Jabbari, in a comment he posted on his official Facebook page after the end of the confrontations in Ataq.

Jabbari described the Presidential Leadership Council as "unconstitutional", and claimed that he informed the council's head, Rashad Al-Alimi, that the council was a "tool to fragment Yemen," reiterating his attack against the coalition's role in Yemen.

Jabbari’s attack came after local media and Brotherhood activists circulated news about the establishment of the so-called “National Salvation Council” as an alternative to the Presidential Leadership Council, headed by Jabbari and Ahmed bin Daghr, the Speaker of the Shura Council as his deputy, and the membership of 7 leaders loyal to the Brotherhood, most notably the former governor of Shabwa, Muhammad bin Adyo.  The former Minister of Transport, Saleh Al-Jabwani, and the former leader of Al-Qaeda, Adel Al-Hassani.

It is noteworthy that the news was circulated in conjunction with the outbreak of confrontations in Ataq by military and security leaders loyal to the Brotherhood, last Monday, only to be denied 48 hours after circulating statements by Ibn Dagher, yesterday, Wednesday, and hours before matters were resolved in Ataq.

The publication of the rumor of the establishment of this council coincided with the events in Shabwa, which observers considered an indication that the detonation of the situation in Ataq was not just a rebellion against the decisions of the governor, but a battle planned within the context of a comprehensive coup project against the Presidential Council aimed at creating an alternative entity for it and imposing a new fait accompli in the regions  Edited, and the idea of spreading the rumor of the "Jabbari" council came as a prelude to that.

In this context, journalist Mahmoud al-Atmi revealed in a post on "Facebook" that what the Shabwa governorate witnessed is something that has been planned for months, and that the goal of the coalition and the Presidential Council is to thwart or weaken the council, he said.

Al-Atmi revealed that there were meetings held months ago in Turkey for Omani, Qatari, Iranian and Turkish officers with representatives of the Brotherhood, the Houthis, and even representatives of terrorist organizations or figures associated with them, to implement this.
