Sanaa..an air depression exposes the militia authority, and Houthi accuses the questioner of threatening the city
English - Sunday 24 July 2022 الساعة 06:42 pmMeteorology reported that the city of Sana'a, which is under the control of the Houthi militia, Iran's arm in Yemen, was hit by an air depression yesterday, as rain lasted more than 12 hours.
Security agencies affiliated with the militia had announced that traffic was out of service in general, and that most of the streets and tunnels had 100% stopped.
This was severe warnings to activists and the media, warning citizens of the necessity of staying away from the places where the torrents flowed. However, preliminary statistics indicate the death of two girls from one family when their homes were demolished in the al-Mathbah area, west of the municipality, while some families resorted to sheltering in schools.
According to the citizens, the rain exposed the militia authority, which failed miserably in finding alternative roads or doing any work that opens traffic and the work of tunnels, especially the tunnels of Siteen Asser - the presidential house and the Shumila area.
The residents were surprised by the absence of all maintenance work over the past years, which led to a frightening deterioration of the infrastructure. Some attributed these results to the penetration of nepotism in the appointment of administrative cadres and the increase in financial and administrative corruption, which was considered an organized crime to destroy the country.
The rain that fell swept through most of the neighborhoods and streets in Sana’a, including the political neighborhood, Faj Attan, the Al-Safia-the ring area, up to Sana’a University, the Tahrir area, Al-Hasaba, the areas of Dars, Sawan, Al-Zubayri Street, and the Mathbah area.
It should be noted that there are prominent leaders of the Houthi militia who are still calling to this day for the necessity of demolishing the work of the flood corridors and making them a dirt road so that the wells can be fed, according to Houthi statements.
Commenting on the situation, engineer MJK, one of those who worked on the project since the year 2000, said that these construction works are not aware of these and that they saved the city of Sana'a from environmental and natural disasters that are difficult to explain here.
He added, these statements reflect the situation of those in power in Sana'a, as they do not think of solutions, maintenance, or future studies as much as they promote the theory of the "American conspiracy" in order to win the sympathy of their supporters.
He concluded: These systems of draining water, whether through open or closed channels, are a global system in place in most rainy countries, including Asian countries, let alone Sana’a, which is located between a group of mountains and valleys through which torrents flow, in addition to being a city crowded with random construction and planning.
