The head of the so-called "Al-Mahra Peaceful Sit-in Committee," Sheikh Ali Salem Al-Huraizi, attacked the leadership and members of the Presidential Leadership Council, calling for a confrontation with him and what he called the conspiracies of the Saudi-Emirati alliance.

Al-Huraizi said, in the meeting, that what he described as conspiracies and schemes are continuing on Al-Mahra Governorate by the Saudi-Emirati coalition, which he described as the coalition of aggression, a description that the Houthi group calls the Arab coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen.

Al-Huraizi claimed in a speech during the meeting that there were attempts to lease the port of Qishn in the governorate for a period of 50 years to a company “led by a leader in the Transitional Council and behind which the UAE stands”, claiming that the UAE aims behind this to turn it into a military port.

What is remarkable in Al-Huraizi's statements, which was broadcast by the Brotherhood's "Al-Mahariya" channel, was the contradiction in which he accused Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states of working to impoverish the Yemeni people by preventing oil and gas exploration and extraction companies from working in Yemen since the sixties with the aim of turning Yemenis into workers in their countries.

Al-Huraizi contradicted this, declaring his rejection of the speech of a member of the Presidential Council, Major General Faraj Al-Bahsani, during his visit to the governorate on Saturday, about the possibility of companies to explore for oil and gas in Al-Mahra.  Al-Huraizi alleged that Al-Bahsani is promoting "Emirati, American and Israeli" companies.

This attack by Al-Hurayzi against the Presidential Council and the coalition comes about 3 days after a similar attack launched by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Abdulaziz Jabbari against the Council and the coalition in a letter he addressed to the US President on the occasion of the holding of the Arab-American Summit in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Al-Huraizi and Jabbari are among the most prominent Yemeni political leaders opposed to the role of the Arab coalition in Yemen. They are also among the most prominent leaders close to the regime in the Sultanate of Oman within what is known as the Muscat cell, which includes Brotherhood and Houthi leaders who are united by their hostility to the coalition.
