Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

The latest statistics indicate that approximately 44 civilians were killed or wounded as a result of mine explosions planted by the Houthi terrorist militia during the month of June alone.

And official government sources confirmed this, indicating that the number of dead, as a result of the explosions of Houthi mines and unexploded ordnance, was 17 people, including two children and a woman, in 9 Yemeni governorates.

The same sources added that the number of injuries reached 27, including 14 children and a woman, noting that Al-Hodeidah governorate came in the first place, with 15 victims, including 6 dead and 9 wounded.

These numbers, which are harvested by mines on a daily basis, add huge burdens on the capacity of society and the family, in addition to the living conditions, the absence of work opportunities and the interruption of salaries.

Responsible parties were astonished by the negative reactions from the United Nations against the reports of organizations and press teams about the amount of mines and projectiles that await their victims in the roads, reefs, farms and homes abandoned due to the confrontations.

These numbers and statistics bring to mind what was planted in the First and Second World Wars. During the month of June, 2022, the Masam project extracted 6,509 Houthi mines and unexploded ordnance.

According to the project’s statistics, from the end of June 2018 until June 2022, its teams removed approximately 348,883 mines, unexploded ordnance and an explosive device.

These actions cost the concerned authorities and the country's treasury millions of dollars, besides the psychological and health burdens and the number of permanent and various disabilities among women, children and youth.

According to the monitoring authorities, the Masam Demining Project has completed the clearance of 35.40 thousand square meters of land in Yemen, which was mined with all kinds of explosives, and this number is equivalent to the area of an entire country.
