Taiz, NewsYemen, special:

Angry and denouncing reactions continued to the failure of the negotiations of the first round of international consultations between the delegation of the Presidential Council and the delegation of the terrorist Houthi group to open the main roads around the governorates, especially Taiz, which were closed by the group.

The angry and denouncing reactions to the failure of these negotiations taking place in the Jordanian capital, Amman, as a result of the intransigence of the Houthi militia, re-shed light on the reasons for the failure to resolve the battle militarily in Taiz, which caused it to remain under the siege of the militias.

About 4 years ago, the fronts in Taiz did not witness any significant military progress at the expense of the Houthi militia, after the conflict shifted to the liberated areas by the military formations under the control of the Muslim Brotherhood to subjugate those outside this control represented by the Abu Abbas Brigades and the 35th Armored Brigade forces led by Brigadier General Adnan  Al Hammadi, who was assassinated in December 2019.

In this context, the southern politician Saeed Abdullah Bakran refers to the offer made by Al-Hammadi at the height of this conflict to the Brotherhood to go to fight the Houthi militia and head towards Ibb and Yarim, and commented by saying: So they betrayed him and Taiz..!!

Weeks before his assassination, Al-Hammadi revealed in a meeting at his home with a number of politicians and activists that he had met with one of the senior leaders of the Islah Party in Taiz (the local arm of the Brotherhood) after the party’s militias attempted to storm the Taiz countryside (Al-Hajaria) to control them at the expense of the 35th Armored Brigade forces.

Al-Hammadi said at the time that he advised the reformist leader to abandon attempts to control Al-Hijriyah and from there to Aden or the western coast, and to head together towards completing the liberation of Taiz, and then the governor of Ibb, all the way to the Yarim area adjacent to Dhamar governorate.

Al-Hammadi considered that the control of the forces in Taiz over this area would enable it to impose its conditions later in any political negotiations with the Houthi group, and concluded his speech sarcastically that Islah acted on his advice and mobilized his forces, but towards the areas of Brigade 35.
