Aden, NewsYemen, special:

Southern politicians and journalists considered the decision of the Presidential Leadership Council to appoint Judge Qaher Mustafa as attorney general of the Republic of Yemen, as a victory for Aden and its people, and a restoration of respect for the southern judiciary.

On Wednesday, the Presidential Leadership Council ousted Dr. Ahmed Al-Musai, who had been appointed by former President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi as attorney general, by a unilateral decision that violated the provisions of the Riyadh Agreement, in addition to the fact that he came from outside the judicial authority.

Judge Qaher Mustafa is considered one of the Adenite cadres, and is respected by all, as the decision to appoint him was widely praised, and politicians considered the decision a great gain for Aden and the south.

The official in the Southern Transitional Council, Ahmed al-Rubaizi, said that the importance of the decision lies in the fact that it came to remove the security officer, Ahmed al-Musai, who was appointed by a unilateral decision, and without the approval of the Transitional Council, which he considered a clear violation of the terms of the Riyadh Agreement, and because it came from outside the judiciary.

Al-Rubaizi indicated that Hadi's decision created a judicial crisis that led to the disruption and closure of the courts, in protest of the Judges Club, which rejected the decision flatly.

Al-Rubaizi believes that the decision of the Presidential Leadership Council to appoint the most famous judge in the south, Judge Qaher Mustafa, as attorney general, comes as a correction to the judicial authority and a restoration of respect for the southern judges.

Al-Rubaizi called on the Presidential Command Council to hurry to correct the wrong and provocative decisions of the people of the south that were taken since the war of occupation of the south in 1994, the most serious of which came as a violation of the Riyadh Agreement, if the council wanted to normalize the situation in the south.

After the decision was issued, the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council announced its welcome to appoint Judge Qaher Mustafa as attorney general.

The southern politician Saeed Bakran, commenting on the appointment of a new attorney general, said that every decision by consensus will be welcomed, and every decision without agreement and consensus will not pass, a simple and easy transitional message.

He stressed that singling out a group by state decisions and transforming it into private property and using appointments in state agencies for political intrigue is the cause of the legitimacy crisis in the past, explaining that consensus and agreement is the only way out of the crisis.

He pointed out that the transitional's welcome to the new, consensual Attorney General is support for the standards of judicial and professional law, which is a victory for Aden and its people and residents, adding that the ball is in the court of its son, Attorney General Qaher Mustafa by making the Public Prosecution a strong fortress that wins for all the oppressed and addresses any transgression against the people of Aden and its city.  and its private and public properties, and stands in the face of the forces of terrorism and intimidation by law.

He explained that the Judicial Reform Department will not be complete without reforming all judicial bodies, foremost of which is the Public Prosecution in all its branches, and removing the judiciary from political polarization.

Bakran thanked all the southern judges who stood up to the absurdity of the past and its transgression of the law and refused to use the judiciary as a means of plotting and political revenge.
