A number of citizens from Ibb governorate complained that the majority of money changers defraud them while delivering incoming transfers from abroad, as well as internal transfers that are transferred in hard currency.
Ali Abdo Ahmed, a student, said, I used to receive remittances during the last period from any exchange company according to the currency in which the transfer was sent, whether it was in Saudi Arabia or in dollars, and I rarely found anyone who refused to deliver them otherwise and imposed Yemeni currency.
He added, about a month or more ago, exchange shops and companies began refusing to deliver remittances according to what was received, and most of them answer by saying that I only have a Yemeni.
The same applies to corporate agents and money changers in the countryside, villages and remote areas who take advantage of people's needs and their inability to move because of the costs and hardships of travel.
He pointed out that the most important of all is that banknotes are delivered in local currency, most of which are 80% damaged, not to mention the theft of large sums due to manipulation of exchange rates, which change clearly from time to time in the recent period.
