Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

The continuation of the offensive and violent statements and stances by the leaders of the Houthi group against the Presidential Command Council reflected the extent of the group's annoyance over the council's announcement last Thursday, with broad internal consensus and broad Arab and international support.

What is remarkable about the group’s attack is its hurry, hours after the council’s announcement, through its spokesman, Muhammad Abd al-Salam, to consider the council’s announcement as a step that “pushes towards escalation,” despite the council’s president, Rashad al-Alimi, in his first speech promising to work to end the war and bring peace, emphasizing that the council  Peace Council.

Over the past six days since the council’s announcement, the Houthi group has focused its attack intensely through statements issued by its affiliated entities or through statements by its leaders and activists on social media.

This Houthi attack, which reflects the extent of the annoyance with the council’s announcement, is attributed to several reasons, including the composition of the council’s members, “because most of the eight members of this council have military backgrounds, and are leaders of large and qualitative military entities,” according to what the writer Dr. says.  Sadiq Alqadi in his article.

The judge

Alqadi considers that this "meets the stage's demand of military priority in dealing with the armed coup, which believes in nothing but strength and dominance," he said.

Looking at the composition of the members of the Council, five of them hold the rank of major general, namely (Chairman Rashad Al-Alami, Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, Sultan Al-Arada, Faraj Al-Bahsani and Othman Majali), while the other two members hold the rank of brigadier and they are (Tariq Saleh and Abu Zara’a Al-Muharrami), while the only civilian is Abdullah Al-Alimi, office manager  Hadi, the former president.

In addition, most of the council's members are leaders of armed formations that share the theater of the fronts in the north and south in the face of the Houthi militia, which gives the council the legitimacy of "trenches and guns," according to journalist Abdul Salam al-Qaisi.

In his article, Al-Qaisi sees it as "a military council, no less, an epic council that collects men's guns."  He added, however, that the council is "the epic title of the stage, the stage of a just peace or a gun of salvation."

In addition to the military nature of the council by virtue of the nature of its members and its ability to confront the Houthis with the option of war in the event of the failure of the peace option, the council “will give the negotiations with the Houthis strength in the face of the international community,” according to journalist Nabil al-Soufi.

Al-Soufi explains his idea by saying: Legitimacy in its previous form was in the most weak state, a weakness due to which Al-Houthi used to swell by virtue of his control over the land and his organizational unity. Today, the Leadership Council will constitute a great force at the negotiating table as a representative of all spectrums of opponents who stand against Al-Houthi.
