The Grand Mufti of the Houthis issues a decree deducting self-zakat from the salary

The General Authority for Zakat, run by the Houthi militia, Iran’s arm in Yemen, issued a new decision specifying the amount of Zakat al-Fitr for each individual and employee in all government offices and departments of the people of the Republic of Yemen.
The decision included directives to the general managers of the commission’s offices in Sana’a and the rest of the governorates under the control of the Houthis; Given the importance of taking into account an increase in the amount of pot assets and zakat al-fitr income, and based on the provisions of Islamic Sharia, the laws and regulations of the Republic of Yemen and the texts of the constitutional articles, the price of one breath has been set at (700) riyals, before entering the blessed month of Ramadan.
The decision indicated the necessity of obligating all the taxpayers, trustees and iqal of the lanes to collect zakat from all individuals according to the specified price without any delay.
The decision focused on employees, and the need to collect integrated data about them and the number of their family members; And making it a database that is updated every year, which means that at least 60% of the half of the salary that is delivered every six months will be deducted as part of self-zakat, and it may reach the deduction of the salary by 100%; If the employee has a family of 10 or more.
This was considered by observers as a clear cynicism and sarcasm against the employee who works throughout the year in return for 5% of his annual salary, considering it a new scandal of the Houthi militia scandal.
Not to mention that it is an entry point for organizing intensive campaigns against shop owners, merchants and citizens before the month of Ramadan. In addition to making a new statistic on the number of births, and exploiting this to support the group's orientations and its sectarian and sectarian projects, which it consecrates at all levels.
