Head of the Russian Duma: We were right to support the Security Council's decision to classify the Houthis as a terrorist group

Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky stressed that the Houthis once again demonstrated their terrorist nature by attacking the civilian infrastructure of the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

"I learned with great concern the attack launched by the Houthi group on the infrastructure of the city of Jeddah, the most beautiful and most developed city in Saudi Arabia," Slutsky told the Russian TASS news agency.

He added that the Houthis once again demonstrated their terrorist nature, their lack of a constructive agenda, and their determination to destabilize the region.

Slutsky considered that "these attacks confirm the correctness of Russia's support for the UN Security Council resolution recognizing the Houthi movement as terrorist."

The Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee demanded that those who planned and carried out these treacherous attacks be brought to justice.

He expressed his unequivocal support for Saudi efforts to resolve the Yemeni crisis and the Kingdom's initiative regarding security and stability in the region.
