Sana'a, NewsYemen, Muhammad Yahya:

During the last days of the administration of US President Donald Trump, the Houthi militia was classified as a terrorist organization and sanctions were imposed on this Iranian-backed terrorist group, but the Biden administration removed this designation shortly after taking power, citing humanitarian concerns, but the coup militia, which rejoiced in canceling  The classification decision rejected diplomatic initiatives, intensified its violations against civilians in its areas of control, increased its attacks on civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, expanded its hostile naval activity, and threatened the security of international navigation in the Red Sea.

In the aftermath of the attack claimed by the militia on January 17 last, which resulted in the killing of three civilians in Abu Dhabi, the UAE submitted a proposal to the US administration to reclassify the Houthi militia as a terrorist organization, to issue UN Security Council Resolution 2624 to renew the sanctions regime on Yemen, and to classify the Houthi militia  A “terrorist group” for the first time, being included in the sanctions list, the resolution expanded the UN arms embargo on many Houthi leaders to include the entire militia.

In turn, the European Union added the Houthi militia to the union’s blacklist, days after a similar Arab decision issued by the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, against the background of the violations committed by the militia against civilians, including killing, displacement, imprisonment and torture since their coup against power on September 21, 2014.  As well as violations against neighboring countries and the international community, including the repeated cross-border terrorist attacks that targeted civilians and infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Following the issuance of international resolutions against the militia, the Houthi leaders rushed to transfer and withdraw their money and balances from banks, and the terrorist militia escalated its crimes against citizens in its areas of control, storming a number of citizens’ homes, and arresting a number of university youth and students, after allegations published by the militia that the plans had thwarted.  It is targeting it in Sana’a. The militia has also expelled dozens of families from their homes in a number of areas under its control, and has randomly planted mines and taken vacant homes as military barracks.  The displacement process coincided with the militia's mobilization of children and adolescents and pushing them to advanced areas, in an attempt to push them to the incinerators of death.

The Houthi militia’s escalation of its crimes and violations coincides with the continuation of the militia’s arms smuggling operations, which are run by the Iranian regime through multiple methods, methods and complex networks, violating more seriously the international resolutions banning arms to the militia, including the recent Security Council resolution.
