The United Arab Emirates has affirmed its right to push back aggression and to defend itself and its sovereignty and territory under international law, and that what terrorist groups do will not go unanswered.
This came in the words of the UAE Minister of State, Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, during the 157th regular session of the Arab League Council at the level of foreign ministers, which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
Al-Marar said that the UAE was subjected to vicious terrorist attacks by the Houthi terrorist group that targeted civilian areas and objects and led to civilian casualties and in-kind losses. Similarly, Houthi terrorist attacks on civilian objects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continued.
He added that large numbers of ballistic and winged missiles and drones were used in this Houthi aggression.
He stressed that the vigilance and readiness of the UAE armed forces and their high professionalism in confronting these attempts thwarted the occurrence of large-scale terrorist operations aimed at inflicting victims of various nationalities residing in the UAE, which amount to more than 200 nationalities.
He stressed the right of the UAE to push back aggression and defend itself and its sovereignty and territory under international law, and that the attacks carried out by terrorist groups will not pass without a comprehensive response, and the UAE has the legal and moral right to prevent the threat of terrorism from threatening its lands and gains and deterring its perpetrators.
He pointed out that the terrorist Houthi militia would not have continued its aggression, crimes, intransigence and rejection of peaceful solutions to the Yemeni crisis had it not been for the continuous flow of Iranian weapons to it, in clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions, and had it not been for the indifference and failure of the international community to take a decisive position on the continuation of these terrorist groups in change it
The Emirati minister stressed the importance of continuing to call on all countries of the world to classify the Houthis as a terrorist entity and to include them on the lists of terrorist organizations, stressing that this classification does not conflict with the continued provision of humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people, and similarly does not conflict with our quest to work to reach a ceasefire and find a political solution of the conflict in Yemen.
