The Yemeni ambassador to the United Kingdom, Dr. Yassin Saeed Noman, has warned of new complications in the situation in Yemen by diluting the "crisis file" by UN mediators, which may reduce peace opportunities.
Noman was commenting on the recent moves of the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, who began conducting a series of meetings and consultations with a number of Yemeni parties, forces and civil society organizations, in order to promote his new plan for peace in Yemen.
He said, "Yemen does not need any formality today that leads to more disappointment and misery for the scene."
And he considered that this matter "will further complicate the situation, by perpetuating the state of fluidity that characterized previous attempts by United Nations envoys to deal with the Yemeni war file."
The Yemeni ambassador in London said, on his Facebook account, that "the expanded meetings held by the UN envoy with a wide range of Yemeni political actors in Jordan must have prepared the necessary conditions for them to contribute to the maturation of the subjective and objective political conditions for the peaceful solution he seeks."
He explained that "these meetings are bound to make a tangible shift in the course of political action in order to advance the path to peace, unless all they will result in is more frustration and diminishing chances for peace."
