The coalition thwarts Houthi attacks in three provinces and bombarded Sanaa
English - Monday 07 March 2022 الساعة 06:00 pmToday, the Saudi-led Arab coalition announced the implementation of 14 targeting operations against the terrorist Houthi militia, the arm of Iran in Yemen, in Hajjah during the past 24 hours, indicating the destruction of (9) military vehicles, and human losses among the Houthis.
And field sources in Hajjah had confirmed earlier, that the coalition fighters had thwarted a large-scale Houthi attack on government forces’ positions east of Haradh, Hajjah, and inflicted heavy losses on them.
The sources pointed out that the operation aimed to prevent the Houthis from advancing towards the last areas of legitimacy in the border directorate with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where it was thwarted, and after launching more than 12 consecutive raids on Houthi military vehicles used in the attack, which prompted them to retreat and flee, after incurring more than 27 dead and dozens wounded.
The operation also led to the destruction of a Houthi command and control center in the area, as well as the destruction of Houthi combat mechanisms, including a BMP vehicle, 6 military crews, a city carrying ammunition and combat supplies, and a military ambulance.
During the past few hours, the two sides exchanged missile and artillery shelling on the fronts of Bani Hassan in the Abs district and the outskirts of the Hiran district, leaving dead and wounded between the two sides.
The sources indicated that the militias continue to send armed groups to be mobilized in their areas of control under the name "Yemen's Cyclone", to be annihilated by the coalition fighters who target them when they reach Haradh and Abs.
The Arab coalition had announced the implementation of a qualitative military operation on legitimate military targets of the Houthis in Sanaa, in response to the threat of drones and attempts to target civilians, and that the operation on Sanaa came in response to that operation.
And local sources in Sanaa stated that the raids targeted the headquarters of the formerly armored First Division in Sawad Hanash, north of Sanaa, and Al-Sawad camp in southern Sanaa.
In Saada, the stronghold of the Houthis, the battles between the two sides continued in the Kataf al-Baqqa district, for the second day in a row, centered in the "Jashira" area, which came after the government forces launched a sudden attack on the Houthis in the area and inflicted heavy losses on it.
Military sources in the al-Baqa axis stated that the militias, at dawn today, sent reinforcements to the area and launched a counterattack with the aim of restoring Tabab, which was liberated yesterday in "Geshera", but it failed as a result of the steadfastness of the forces and the intervention of coalition fighters to thwart the attack.
The sources pointed out that the coalition warplanes launched support raids on Houthi sites in the Shada and Al Dhaher districts in Saada, destroying vehicles and killing and wounding a number of Houthis.
The coalition fighters also thwarted a Houthi attack on government forces' positions in the Al-Kasara front in the Serwah district, west of Ma'rib, and inflicted losses on them in equipment and lives.
Battles continued between the two sides in desert areas between the Balk mountain range and the Umm Reish camp in the sandy axis, without achieving any progress from the two sides.
The Houthi militia targeted, at dawn today, an area near the Safer oil facility in the Al-Wadi district of the Marib governorate, with a ballistic missile that fell in a desert area close to the facility without causing any damage to it.
The Houthi attack on Safer is the second in less than a week, according to local sources in the directorate, noting that the militias are trying to target Safer after failing to reach it through the fighting fronts for more than two years.
