Al-Dhalea succeeds in cultivating wheat and returning local crops to the market

During the past months, Al-Dhalea governorate witnessed a boom in the cultivation of agricultural crops, and it succeeded in experimenting with wheat cultivation in the Jahaf district, during the past months at a high rate, and farmers succeeded in completing the cultivation process and are waiting for the harvest.
A number of farmers confirmed to NewsYemen in the Al-Madad area of Jahaf district that the quantities that were planted in some southern governorates were successful and promising, the most important of which are the agricultural fields in Mudiyah District, Abyan Governorate, in which the farmers succeeded in this experiment.
Al-Dhalea is considered one of the most fertile areas for the cultivation of various agricultural crops. Previously, farmers in the Zabid district of Al-Dhalea planted potatoes and legumes in all its forms. Although the idea was new, it achieved great and tangible success.
In the Al-Wabah area in the middle of Al-Dhalea, some of the legumes were planted by farmers after the noticeable improvement in the rainy season during the past two years and the rise in the level of wells.
The farmers pointed out that the remarkable improvement in the rising water level contributed to the growing phenomenon of cultivating agricultural crops, after the total dependence on the cultivation of the qat plant during the past years.
Farmers in the town of Al-Madad in the Jahaf district believe that during the past few months, the potato and legume crops had an excellent return in the markets in the city, as many old farmers assert that half a century ago, the total dependence of the population of the Jahaf district on farms was through the cultivation of vegetables, legumes, potatoes and grains such as corn. Levantine, Western, barley, millet and coffee, as well as sesame cultivation and oil extraction
The old farmer, Hajj Hadi, said that the citizen in Jahaf was consuming local products, and there was an environmental and health improvement for the citizen as well as the animal, where you find the average life of them from seventy to eighty years and they are in good health. Hajj Hadi was one of the largest exporters of tobacco, i.e. (Tittin) Colloquially, as in the time of the fathers there was a large livestock wealth, where you find the family owning a herd of goats and sheep, as well as cows and chickens.
