Washington: The liberation of Mukalla helped dismantle Al-Qaeda in Yemen

The counter-terrorism file topped the discussions of the US envoy to Yemen, Timothy Lenderking, and the Chargé d'Affairs of the US Embassy in Yemen, with the governors of Shabwa and Hadramawt and representatives of the Arab coalition forces led by Saudi Arabia.
Lenderking praised the efforts made to combat terrorism, noting that the operation to liberate the coast of Hadramawt helped the United States dismantle al-Qaeda in Yemen.
For his part, the Governor of Hadhramaut, Major General Faraj Al-Bahsani, called for the need for the American side, through its donor organizations, to provide aid to citizens, support the Yemeni army forces in Hadramout with modern means, give their leaders training opportunities, and discuss the possibility of establishing a military force specialized in combating terrorism.
Al-Bahsani briefed the American envoy on the most important turning points in Hadhramaut, foremost of which was the control of Al-Qaeda terrorist organization on the Hadhramaut coast areas in 2015, for a whole year, before liberating them with the support of the Arab coalition forces led by the countries of Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and inflicting heavy losses on the terrorists.
He touched on the situation of the country, and the war of the Houthi militia, which worsened the economic, humanitarian and tragic situation, and their failure to pay attention to peace initiatives, and their continued bombing of innocent civilians, women and children.
