Three soldiers were killed and four tribal gunmen were wounded, on Friday, in clashes between the forces of the First Military District and gunmen from the Nahd tribe, in the Khashaa area of Hadramout Governorate, southeast of Yemen.
Local sources said that members of the 37th Armored Brigade, affiliated with the First Military District, shot two tribesmen as they were passing through a military point on the crossroads, wounding at least four.
As a result, armed confrontations erupted between the tribesmen of Nahd, on the one hand, and the soldiers of the First Military District, on the other, in the vicinity of the Calvali Oil Company operating in the western Hadramout districts.
The clashes came against the backdrop of the release by the Hadramout Valley authorities of the Islah Party, the local branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, accused of a murder case last year that killed three people and injured two others.
The areas of Hadramout Valley, under the control of the Brotherhood, are witnessing an unprecedented state of chaos, with a high level of murders, assassinations, tribal revolts and robberies, amid blatant complicity by the forces of the First Military District with the perpetrators of these crimes.
