Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

Sources close to the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, revealed to NewsYemen that the main reason behind the few recent appearances of the militia leader, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, is due to security fears of betrayals that may lead to easy targeting.

And the militia leader had been absent from appearing to give speeches for a while after rumors that he had been targeted by coalition aircraft after the death of the Tehran mullahs’ ambassador to the militias, Hassan Erlo, who was flown by an Iraqi private plane to Tehran - after US and Iraqi diplomatic mediation - before he announced his death on allegations that he had been injured.  With the Corona virus, and before Al-Houthi appeared a few days ago in a speech in early February, in which he admitted the defeat his militias received in Shabwa.

The sources said: Security advice from Iranian Revolutionary Guards experts, experts affiliated with Hezbollah, and even security leaders of the Houthi militia stressed the need to take more security precautions for the militia leader, including preventing the technical and media figures responsible for arranging and recording his speeches that are broadcast and recorded on screens. and that caution should be taken no matter how reliable and trusted the cadres close to the militia leader are, noting that the last speech was recorded by the militia leader’s office and sent to the media without the participation of the technical and media staff responsible for recording the usual Houthi speeches.

According to the sources, these measures came after the militias’ preventive security arrested some leaders of the militias’ security and supervisors, accusing them of treason, working for the coalition, and being involved in leaking information and coordinates for important and secret objectives that coalition aircraft could bomb, which led to the killing of some military and security leaders who were detained and did not post their names yet.

The sources confirm that the security measures that the militia leaders are following, especially after the arrest of some supervisors and security personnel who were accused of treason, increased dramatically due to fear of coalition airstrikes, including the constant change of communication phones between them on the one hand, and changing their places of residence and sleep on the other, as well as reducing  Its meetings and public appearances, in addition to stopping official meetings of state institutions under the control of militias.
