Tribal mediation succeeded in stopping the armed clashes that erupted yesterday (Saturday) evening between the security forces and tribal gunmen from "Al Jalal" in the "Atran" area, east of the city of Ma'rib.
The clashes erupted against the backdrop of the security forces' creation of sites and checkpoints in the areas of the "Al Jalal" tribes, a move that the latter rejected, and armed confrontations erupted as a result.
Local sources said that violent confrontations erupted between the two sides on Saturday evening, in which various types of heavy and medium weapons were used.
The clashes lasted about 4 hours, leaving dead and wounded civilians displaced in the areas near the site of the clashes.
The sources did not provide any details about the losses in the ranks of the two sides of the confrontations.
In this context, the advisor to the Minister of Information in the legitimate government, Fahd Talib Al-Sharafi, considered the explosion of a confrontation with the Al-Jalal tribes in Marib as "childish behaviour."
Al-Sharafi said, on his account on "Twitter": "The security went out to create a point and build a shift in the land of the Jalal family. The Jalal family stoned them, and they refused the stone. Immediately the situation exploded, and a war with various heavy weapons began."
The government official indicated that the confrontations took place 10 minutes from the nearest front with the Houthi militia in Ma'rib.
Al-Sharafi concluded by saying: "The bombing of a war is such a childish behavior! ..People talk to each other and understanding!", as he put it.
Houthi exploitation
Activists accused the Houthi militia of trying to exploit and inflame the tension between the security of Ma'rib and the Al Jalal tribes, by firing ballistic missiles at civilian homes in the city.
Activist Raad al-Thabti, a resident of Marib, said that the Houthi militia fired 6 ballistic missiles at civilian homes in Marib, in an attempt to inflame the situation between the Al Jalal tribes on the one hand, and the security forces on the other hand.
On his Facebook account, Al Thabeti called on everyone to be prudent and to miss this cunning enemy.
Attack in front of the Safer gate
Earlier, two soldiers and a tribal gunman were killed and others wounded, in an attack in front of the gate of the Safer oil facility in Marib.
While the circumstances of the incident are not yet clear, local media sources reported that tribal gunmen attacked the security personnel at the facility and were confronted with it, while the investigation is still underway to find out the circumstances.
kidnapping campaigns
In the city of Ma’rib, the provincial capital, the security forces of the Islah Party launch arrest campaigns on a daily basis, targeting citizens, shop owners.
Some of the kidnapped are referred to the Criminal Investigation Department for investigation and detention, while some are released, according to a security source in Marib.
A few days ago, the owner of a barbershop died in a Brotherhood prison in the city of Marib, after a period of arrest, without charge, after which the security authorities released other barbers they had arrested and detained without trial.
The security of Marib restricts journalists, media professionals and activists, who are not loyal to the Brotherhood, by monitoring them on social media platforms and in groups for messaging applications.
