Brigadier General Ali al-Jabwani, head of the local leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in Shabwa governorate, confirmed that life in the Bayhan districts is normal after its liberation from the Houthi militia, noting that the people of the south paid a heavy price for the liberation of Bayhan in 2015 and 2022.
Al-Jabwani said in an interview with Al-Ghad Al-Mashriq channel, that the Shabwa Defense Forces, with the participation of public security personnel, took over the tasks of securing the three Bayhan districts, after their liberation by the Southern Giants Brigades.
He pointed out that the STC participated with the governor in the arrangements and preparations to ensure the success of the liberation plan, stressing that the professionalism of the Giants forces greatly reduced civilian casualties or damage to homes.
Al-Jabwani added that the members of the Giants Brigades are our sons, and we shared the preparation, preparation and implementation of the plan to liberate the districts of Bayhan, and through our joint work with them, we did not find in their dictionary the terms liberation of the homeland and martyrdom.
He explained that securing Shabwa from Houthi missiles necessitated the incursion of giants into Ma'rib pending the formation of a Marib force to complete liberation.
He praised the role of the Arab coalition in the battle against the Houthi militia, stressing that the countries of the coalition provided great support for liberation and the provision of services, and what they provided is a religion in our hands.
Brigadier-General al-Jabwani mentioned the Houthi Brotherhood agreement in 2014, which stipulated that there would be no military clash between them, despite the Brotherhood’s control of most of Sanaa in 2014, but they did not fire a bullet to prevent the Houthis from dropping it.
He said that the delivery of Bayhan, despite the presence of three Brotherhood brigades in it, the Houthis managed to bring it down with a fighter on a motorcycle, and this is evidence of the agreement between them.
Al-Jabwani talked about the authority of Ibn Adyo, where he said that the previous Brotherhood authority practiced arrest, torture, enmity and interruption of travelers and transferred the kidnapped to Marib, explaining that the name of the local authority does not apply to the authority of “Ben Adyo”, they are just an ideological group allied with ISIS and Al-Qaeda.
Al-Jabwani described the transitional’s return to exercising its activities freely in Shabwa, as it means the return of spirit, dignity and freedom to Shabwa, and said that in the Transitional Council they did not perform any retaliatory reaction against the Brotherhood leaders who abused them despite their ability to do so.
And he added: The transitional absorbed all the southern powers, and the adoption of the standard of area, population and federalism will protect against marginalization.
On the nature of the relationship with the local authority led by Ibn al-Wazir, al-Jabwani said that it is an excellent relationship and his dealings are balanced with all forces, and we will discuss with him the mechanism of participation in the local authority, and we do not rule out the nomination of qualified cadres from outside the council.
Al-Jabwani announced the Transitional Council's support for the measures taken by Governor Awad Al-Awlaki regarding the supply to the Central Bank and the closure of secret prisons.
Al-Jabwani denied the truth of what is being promoted by the Brotherhood’s media by preventing them from entering the main headquarters in Ataq, and said that the Brotherhood’s authority had turned the vocational institute into a camp for its militias and moved the students to our headquarters to embarrass us.
He added, in the context of his speech, that the students of the Vocational Institute who were sent by the Brotherhood to confront us are our sons, and we will not take any step that would deprive them of education.
Regarding the southern dispute, al-Jabwani considered that it is not deep, and its causes are mostly related to the fear of some of losing an honorary position or personal advantages.
