Aden, NewsYemen, special:

Some works in the world of construction and designs may be milestones in a long series of different construction work courses in the world of construction, and the effort spent may be the main distinguishing mark, which is governed by the last aesthetic image in the design and decoration of the building and the painstaking work to achieve it.

Cladding and glass facades are among the modern constructional arts that have begun to invade the streets of the capital, Aden, and are evident in modern buildings such as commercial centers, hospitals, a number of shops, and even billboards.

Cladding is a panel that combines aluminum and polyethylene and is used in storefronts, buildings and roofs, and is also suitable for old buildings and structures that need protection from climatic factors, heat or rain.

In this regard, he tells NewsYemen, the building contractor Walid Al-Qadi about the beginnings of his work in the world of installing glass facades and cladding with its various systems, saying: My entry into this labor market began in 2005 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and I worked in the Kingdom in the same field until 2018, and at the beginning of our work  There we were workers, and with the accumulation of years of experience and work, we turned to teachers in Saudi Arabia, and we worked there as contractors before returning to Yemen.

He added: The nature of our work is to install cladding and glass facades in various construction projects, including modern markets, hospitals, hotels, buildings, gold shops, restaurants and billboards.

When asked about the business he made in Aden, Al-Qadi said: Our works are many and varied in Aden, such as Al-Fakhama Hall 2 in the Suzuki Tour, the Royal Hall in Al-Sulban, Al-Bairaq Mall and Al-Sisi Royal Hotel, and the existing work now in Al-Ostoura Mall, and some other works in the governorate, in addition to several works  We did it in Hadhramaut.

Walid Al-Qadi highlighted the most prominent difficulties facing the field of work in the field of cladding and glass facades, which is the absence of primary and final materials in the work, such as “musketed” glass, which is not easily found, and is mainly confined to Sana’a, which compels us to import it from Saudi Arabia because the import price from Saudi Arabia is lower  Multiple times more than importing glass from Sana’a, and cladding also. The presence in Sana’a does not exist in those colors required in our work, and most of our work in cladding is Saudi-American cladding, due to its excellent quality of work.

The executing contractor Al-Qadi explained that in Yemen there are no glass furnaces except for one furnace in Sana’a, and that is why its prices are exorbitant, so we are importing “mascart” glass from outside Yemen, in order for if there is a break or a shooting, God forbid, the glass is like grains.  No major injuries.

At the conclusion of his speech, the judge explained that the nature of work sometimes imposes things that are not present in the initial designs of projects, due to the nature of the work, so sometimes we amend the last designs of construction projects, in order to conform to the nature of work and the tools used in the completion of projects.
